2015 TAFCS State Meeting

The theme of this years conference is "Family and Consumer Sciences: Advancing the Field with New Technology."

The event will be held at the Tennessee Technological University campus, TJ Farr Building. We will meet on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 8:30-4:30. Late registration and continental breakfast will be in room 108. Opening remarks and keynote will be in room 106. Several educational sessions are scheduled hourly for both morning and afternoon sessions. A poster session will be scheduled so that you can meet the researcher and ask questions specific to the research.

Buffet lunch will be in the Noble Cody Executive Dining room in the University Center with a scheduled speaker. After the conference, you will have the option to participate in tours of local interest in area. More information will be in the conference brochure.

We are so excited that our keynote speaker will be Rev. Janet Wolfe from the Children's' Defense Fund. The topic of her address will be Cradle to Prison Pipeline. Her address will stress the importance of increasing supports and services to all children to ensure that each child reaches his or her full potential.

On behalf of the TAFCS Board, we hope you will be able to join us for this exciting meeting!

It is a wonderful opportunity to support your profession, support your state professional organization, network with colleagues, and increase your knowledge of current issues facing individuals and families. Contact us with any questions or needed information. Please return your registration to TAFCS Treasurer, Sandria Godwin by March 10, 2015. A late registration fee of $25.00 will be added after March 10th. Thank you!
